Seeking volcanoes of ideas

We are sure that many high-level creative ideas are still finding their way into the difficult world of music production and art in general. We also think that these ideas are overwhelmed by the domination of the official mainstream productions and by short of breath self-handling solutions. We think and feel that a precious heritage of creativity, professionalism and enthusiasm may be lost because of landlocked projects, ideas with empty pockets, years of hard work not recognized. We think that this heritage should not disappear swallowed by the vast economic gulf that has deleted any public funding for culture. We also think that this heritage should not end up crushed by the arrogance of a cultural industry that can no longer tolerate any idea that is not explicitly designed for the market. But we don't think that any idea is good, of course. We believe that good ideas should face public in the open field and, before that, face a selection that is able to listen but also to judge them. We think that the choice of self production is very weak and is incapable of allowing really interesting insights, valued initiatives, personalities and ideas that give meaning to the highest artistic creation to emerge. For this reason, as artists and cultural workers, we wanted to take the responsibility to be also producers and publishers, to offer a point of reference for all those who think they have something to give to the creative life of these difficult times. We think it is important to listen carefully to all projects that are proposed but we know that it is equally important to be able to evaluate them in a rigorous manner, thus allowing some of them to walk on their own and bringing them to the public that they deserve. Our evaluation does not want to give absolute judgments, and will obviously be influenced by our personal tastes and our different cultural experiences. In addition, it is inspired by the spirit of the place of Silfreed Productions which aims at productions as natural as possible, both from the point of view of the energy and environmental impact of instrumentation, and in terms of immediacy and simplicity in execution and recording. With this wealth of ideas, we turn to creatives and free spirits willing to take risks in order to become our fellow travelers in realizing their projects so that they become also ours.
